Mr Ilaf Ripa, Minister for Sweden in New Zealand, has been appointed the ConsulGeneral at Antwerp. He and Mrs Ripa will leave Welling, ton on Thursday next week. They came here in June, 1960 —(P.A.)
The Minister of Finance 'Mr Lake) has accepted an invitation by the Christchurch Drainage Board to officially open the board's new sewerage treatment plant at Bromley on October 27.
Dr. R. G. T. Lewis, deputy Director-General of Health, left Auckland yesterday for Manila where he will represent New Zealand at the thirteenth session of the regional committee of the World Health Organisation in the Western Pacific.—(P.A.)
Mr A. R. Frethey, who has been manager of the London ofi.ee of the Bank of New Zealand since 1954, will retire at the end of this month. His successor will be Mr T. C. Hiddleston, who has been assistant manager there since the end of last year.—(P.A.)
