Bookshelf

The "tackle” series of books has already covered a wide field, embracing such subjects as Rugby, model railways and pigeon racing. The latest in the line are TACKLE HOCKEY THIS WAY, by Vera Chapman (Stanley Paul, London, 120 pp.); TACKLE TENPIN BOWLING THIS WAY. by Frank Bryan (Stanley Paul, 128 pp.); and TACKLE CYCLE SPORT THIS WAY, by Robin Frood-Barclay (Stanley Paul, 128 pp.).

The three books cover all aspects of the sports concerned. including the choice of equipment and its maintenance. In essence the books are instructional but -the authors have brought

colour to bear in their writing to overcome any limitations their assignments may have held for them. Frood-Barclay, indeed, looses a few broadsides at certain attitudes in sport

In all three books the chapters are concise and the illustrations photographs and line drawings—profuse.
