More Bellbirds
There were more bellbirds about in habitation areas than was the case some years ago, reported Mr R. C. Nelson. of Petone, president of the Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand, recently. Bellbirds had either overcome the native birds’ natural antipathy to civilisation, or they had learned there was food nearer to human habitation than in their own bush domain.
