Ceylon Minister’s New Office

Mr Charles Percival de Silva, the 50-year-old Minister of Agriculture in Ceylon. was today appointed acting Finance Minister in succession to Mr Felix Dias Bandaranaike, who resigned his portfolio last week in protest at the Government’s decision to withdraw the major budget proposal, a cut in the rice tax.
