H Williams). A motion by Mr • Williams, that the request be declined, lapsed because of the lack of a seconder Mr R Storer said that Canterbury teams had visited Greymouth in recent years, but the West Coast had not returned the visit. The chairman (Mr J. Smith) said it should be pointed out to the West Coast that the Canteibury representative team had already done much travelling this season Mr Storer suggested that the matter be referred to the senior selector, but Mr Williams said that lighting was wanted at English Park and the association should conserve its finances Mr Storer then seconded Mr Williams's motion, which was car- led. The meeting received advice that the New Zealand test captain K. Armstrong, would be available to play for Auckland against Canterbury at English Park on Sunday. September 23. The convener of the match committee (Mr T. C. Gottermeyerl reported that there was no date available this season to play the annual New Zealand born-overseas born fixture.
