Waikato Cheque For Foundation
(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON. August 28. Waikato’s contribution to the Maori Education Foundation’s fund has been swelled by £lOOO. the nesuJ4 of a concentrated effort over a period of one month by the people of Ngaruawahia. which has a population of 3000. When the cheque was handed to Dr. Rogers, the Mayor of Hamilton, who is co-chairman of the Waikato district fund-raising committee. he estimated that it would probably be the outstanding effort in New Zealand.
