CAR’S FATAL PLUNGE

Driver Killed Near Reefton <A.Z. Press Association) WESTPORT, August 28. An elderly Dunedin resident. Mr David Reid, believed to be between 70 and 80 years of age, was killed when the car he was driving crashed through the Boatman’s road-rail bridge, near Reefton, this afternoon. Mr Reid is believed to have been visiting relatives at the Landing settlement, which lies between Inangahua and Reefton. Mr Reid was driving alone. He was dead when found in the car, which fell from the bridge to the bed of the creek.
