' LONDON, August 26. The Chinese Nationalist Olympic Committee today sent telegrams asking eight international sports federations to withdraw their official approval of the Asian Games in Djakarta, British United Press reported from Taipeh. The telegrams asked for immediate action to be taken against Indonesia for barring Nationalist China and Israel from the Games on political grounds. They were sent to the international federations that govern track and field, soccer, basketball, weightlifting, swimming, hockey, boxing, and shooting. The Chinese committee had first appealed to the various federations at the time the Chinese athletic team failed
to receive its entry permits to Djakarta by August 22. That was the time-limit the Chinese set in their demand to Indonesia for a clearcut statement of Indonesia's attitude towards Chinese participation in the games.. If the federations choose to accept the Chinese appeal, they could rule that athletes taking part in the games would be disqualified from future international competition, said British United Press. The International Weightlifting Federation has threatened to withdraw its permit for weightlifting events in the Asian Games if the Indonesian Government does not allow Formosan and Israeli contestants to enter, says a Djakarta message.
