Nonchalant Theft
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) LONDON. Aug 25 Four bogus brown-uni» formed postmen calmly strolled into the Mount Pleaa, ant postal sorting office, at Finsbury. London, with today’s early stream of postmen. They late nonchalantly strolled out again-—with five registered mail bags .and nine registered parcels, after forcing a strongroom door, the “Evening News" reported. A G.PO. spokesman said it would be some time bef ire the value of the stolen property could be assessed.
Long Way Round.—A racing pigeon. Bluey. missed the white cliffs of Dover in a 250-mile cross-Channel race and flew on 4500 miles across the Atlantic to Nicaragua. He was picked up exhausted near the Nicaraguan village of Karawala about three weeks after being freed at St. Malo. France.—London. Aug. 2S.
