The Rev. G. Fitzgerald has been appointed vicar of Hokitika and rural dean of Westland. He has been vicar of Malvern since 1959 and was previously assistant curate at St Peter’s. Upper Ricca rton.
The Rev. W. W. Robineon oeen appointed vicar of Hornby in succession to the Rev J. Teal. For the last 10 years M' Robinson has served in the Diocese of Polynesia, having been a chaplain to the Bishop and vicar of Lautoka. and subsequently in charge of the Indian Mission at Labasa Before going to Polynesia he acted as precentor at the Christchurch Cathedral, and was subsequently vicar of Linwood from 1949 to 1952 He will take up his new parish at the beginning of December
The Rev J. Teel, who has been appointed vicar of St Peter’s. Caversham, in the diocese of Dunedin, will leave Hornby in mid-Sep-tember
The American Consul (Mr C L Rice> will visit Christchurch on September 18 and 19 October 30 and 31. and December 11 and 12 to issue tourist visas 'n South Island residents wha intend to travel to nt through the United States He will be at the office of the American Consular Agent.
