HOCKEY Christchurch Boys High Qualifies For Final

DUNEDIN. August 22. Auckland Grammar and Christchurch Boys’ High School, with five wins each, will meet tomorrow tn the final of the Dunedin section of the secondary schools' hockey tournament. After the final, the representative schoolboy team to play an Otago team will be announced. Results of round five, played today, were:— Section A.—Christchurch Boys' High School 2. Wanganui Collegiate 1. Section B: Auckland Grammar 5, Shirley Boys’ High School 1. * NEW PLYMOUTH Christchurch West High School was four points ahead of Te Awamutu High School and Westlake High School in the New Plymouth section, after the fifth round today. The semi-finals Will be played tomorrow. Results were:— Section A.—Christchurch West High School 4. New Plymouth Boys' High School B 1. Section B: Stratford Technical High School beat Rangiora High School by default. Section C: Avondale College 2. Cashmere High School 1. AUCKLAND Hamilton Boys' High School decisively won the Papatoetoe section, when it defeated Gisborne Boys' High School. 3-0. in the final. The team beat King's College, 4-2, In the morning semi-final. WELLINGTON Walrarapa College, with six points, won the B grade of the Wellington section. Linwood High School with four points, was second. In the final game of the A section, which was won by Takapuna Grammar School, Nelson College beat Cambridge High School. 5-1. Wadsworth (2). Bethwaite. Bluck, and Ault scored for Nelson. Takapuna meets Walrarapa in the final. Linwood's match against Walrarapa, which decided the B section, produced the best hockey of the tournament and

showed contrast between the hard-hitting, hard-running style of Walrarapa and the constructive passing game of Linwood. Territorially, Linwood had the advantage, but could not always contain the fast-breaking Walrarapa forwards. Walrarapa led 1-0 at halftime, and the second half pattern followed that of the first, with Linwood lacking finish.
