Grouches
Sir. —I see this morning another school teacher has had the chance of a public whimper. I think it most unfair; I want my turn. Again and again school teachers and farmers seem to be the only ones crushed with miseries, living day-long in stoical anguish—never helped, never loved . . . beset with bad weather and reluctant handouts, I would like a reporter for half an hour. Nobody helps me with slackening business on a wet day or shuffles quietly by as my nerves are twanging to burst-ing-point. -Oh, heck, suddenly I'm just plain tired of getting on with the job.—Yours, etc.. TOBY. August 22, 1962.
