Taxi Telephonists Seek Award

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 21. Claims for a new award for taxi telephonists were laid before the Court of Arbitration today. On behalf of the New Zealand Clerical Workers’ Association, Mr E. C. Blacker asked the Court for a wage increase from £l2 14s Id a week to £l3 17s fid, for three weeks’ holiday for shift workers and for 10 days’ statutory holidays. The union was claiming the same basic skilled rate as the carpenters, said Mr Blacker.
