Spurs Beaten By Villa
(N ZPA.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, August 21. The English Cup holder. Tottenham Hotspur, and the League champion, Ipswich, were both defeated in Division One soccer matches last night. Tottenham lost. 1-2, at Aston Villa. and Ipswich was beaten. 1-0, away to Blackpool. Wolverhampton Wanderers, 8-1 winners of their first match last Saturday, gained a second impressive victory, by 4-1, at West Ham. Results were:— ENGLISH LEAGUE Division One.—Aston Villa 2, Tottenham Hotspur 1; Blackburn Rovers 2. Nottingham Forest 5; Blackpool 1, Ipswich Town 0; West Ham United I, Wolverhampton Wanderers 4. Division Th r e e.—Colchester United 1, Bristol City 0; Port Vale 1. Millwall 1; Queen's Park Rangers 5. Halifax Town 0; Southend United 2, Reading 0. Division Four.—Chesterfield 3, Doncaster Rovers 1: Darlington 2. Chester 1, Newport County 0, Oldham Athletic 0; Southport 1, Hartlepools United 1; Tranmere Rovers 0. Workington 1; York City 2 Crewe Alexandra 0.
