Pupils from eight secondary schools took part In compctitions tn Ge: man held by the University of Canterbury re.•entlv.
The candidates were marked according to their pronunciation. vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. and tested through their reading and conversation. A passage of dictation was also set. a» well as written test covering translation and points of grammar. Results were:—
