REGISTRATION OF DOGS

Hydatids Fee To Be Paid Too

The Banks Peninsula Hydatid Control Committee advised the Lyttelton Borough Council that all countries within the control area had been asked to refuse registration of dogs unless the hydatid fee was paid at the same time.

It appeared, the letter said, that some dog-owners had refused to pay this fee. and although the fee could be obtained by litigation, this was only a waste of the inspector’s time. On the motion of Cr. C. E. Boyd it was decided to request the payment of the hydatid fee before allowing a dog to be registered in the borough.
