INDUSTRIES FAIR
Big Attendance Last Night
A fine, warm evening drew 7055 visitors to the New Zealand Industries Fair at the Addington Show Grounds last evening. About 30,000 have visited the fair since it opened on Thursday evening. The mild evening gave stall-holders in side-show alley a good night, in contrast to Monday evening, when a cold east wind kept visitors inside the exhibition courts.
Entertainments last evening included the helter-skelter slide, gaily lit with coloured lights and in operation for the first time, the Christchurch Metropolitan Pipe Band, demonstrations by the Scottish Country Dance Club, and Leone and Tanya on the high pole, who drew their usual enthralled audience.
