The Canadian dollar recovered somewhat from its setback of the week before in relation to the £ last week, while the United States dollar was fractionally firmer. Most European currencies were steady or made only slight movements.

Montreal: 3.0172 dollars 3.01991; 2 9787 dollars (2.9813).
Austria: 72.65 schillings 7267); 7110 schillings (71.12).
Denmark: 19 43 crowns (19 47) 19 06 crowns (19.05).
France: 13 80 f anes (same) 13 50 francs (13 51).
Japan: 1019 yen (1020); 996 yen (same).
Sweden: 14 49 crowns (14 48) 14 18 crowns (14.17).
