White-Collar Men With Unionists
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE, August 20 For the first time, three trade union and white-collar workers’ organisations, will combine in the campaign for increased margins in Australia. Three million workers are affected by the case the Australian Council of Trade Unions, the Australian Council of Salaried and Professional Associations and the High Council of the Commonwealth Public Service 'Association will submit to the Arbitration Commission next month.
Fire Beaten.—More than 500 firemen, soldiers and volunteers mastered a huge forest fire early today after an all-night battle with flames which destroyed 7200 acres of bush and forest land —Camp de Castediet (French Riviera), August 20.
