For statistics say 99.8% of the men who shave use either a safety or an electric razor. And yet, not many years ago every man used a cut throat. New ideas like these, that provide faster, safer, simpler and more efficient means of doing a daily chore, aren’t taken up automatically. People are conservative; people resist change. So when enterprising men began to manufacture the new kinds of razors ... they had to tell the public and sell the public. Advertising did that telling and selling job. Advertising smoothly matched demand to supply. Advertising once again served human progress. Many of the things we take for granted today could not be made at all without advertising. Advertising in a thousand ways makes a daily contribution to better living.
