Japanese Study N.Z. Successes (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 16. “Athletics in Japan is becom-j ing Uss and less popular every! day I regret.” said Professor Kitsuo Kato, of Tokyo University. today. Professor Kato, who has arrived in Wellington, is a member of the Japanese Olympic Committee. Speaking through an interpreter, he «aid he is here for two purposes: to inform N£w Zealand of preparations for the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and to study New Zealand’s ath- 1 letics programme in view of this country's successes at the Rome Games.
