Professor Kato, who has arrived in Wellington, is a member of the Japanese Olympic Committee. Speaking through an interpreter, he «aid he is here for two purposes: to inform N£w Zealand of preparations for the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and to study New Zealand’s ath- 1 letics programme in view of this country's successes at the Rome Games.
