Sound-Slide Contest
(N.Z. Press Association) TAURANGA, August 16. The Tauranga Photographic Society today announced placings in the new photographic contest which it is organising for sets of colour slides with tape recorded commentary, the New Zealand sound-slide exhibition. This is the first time such a contest has been held in this country and it is intended to hold it annually in future. Winning programmes were:— Division 1 (club entries).— “Apples Grown in New Zealand.” Waimea Camera Club. 1 (gold plaque): “Water Rhythm.” Waikato Photographic Society. 2 (silver): “Wairakei.” Wanganui Camera Club. 3 (bronze). Division 2 (individual entries).—“Ma’iab—Tale of a Horse.” Mrs Irene A. Cooper Hamilton. I (gold plaque), "Toilers of the Hive,” M. Leete, Havelock North. 2 (silver); “Up the River.” lan McVinnie.i Oamaru. 3 (bronze). Thirty-two entries—lo from photographic societies and 22 from individuals—were received.
