Hurunui Plunket Branch

Long-service certificates and badges were presented to MesdameS G. L. Johns, S. Maxwell, W. Grueber, R. Milne, and T. T. Bethell at a recent meeting of the Hurunui branch of the Plunket Society at Culverden, when Mrs J. W. Mosley presided. The awards were gained for service extending over periods from 26 to 38 years.

Arrangements were made for a panel of speakers to talk on mental health at a public meeting in Culverden in November.

The nurse’s report for the June-July period included:— Birth notifications, 23; new bauy cases. 36; visits to babies in homes, 152; visits of babies to rooms, 239; car mileage, 1853; number of babies under supervision at the end of June. 277.

YJU.C.A. Auxiliary.—Members of the senior auxiliary of the Young Men’s Christian Association recently entertained about 40 patients from Sunnyside Hospital, with a country outing, afternoon tea and social.
