Mr J. H Francis, senior partner in the Wellington sharebroking firm of Francis, Allison, Symes and company, has been appointed to the board of directors of Hume Industries (New Zealand) Ltd.
Mr E. R. Thorpe, formerly assistant-factory manager of Beecham (Australia), Pty. Ltd., Melbourne, has been appointed works manager of the New Zealand branch factory at Penrose, Mr C. W. M. White, who has been managing the factory in a temporary capacity, will return to Australia.
Mr E. C. Heaton, manager of the Takapuna branch of the Australia and New Zealand Bank, Ltd., has been appointed sub-manager of the Hereford street, Christchurch branch. He will be replaced by Mr A. D. Debreceny. formerlv manager at Tokoroa. Mr David L. Murison has been appointed a local director of the London advisory board of the Bank of New South Wales. Mr Murison is a director of J Henry Schroder Wagg and Company. Ltd., and has other interests His appointment increases the number of local directors in London to five.
