SEARCH FOR DRUG

Small Quantities Found (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 13. Small quantities of preparations containing the drug thalidomide had been discovered by Health Department inspectors in a check of Auckland chemists. drug wholesalers and hospital stocks. said Dr. B. W. Christmas, medical officer of health, in Auckland today. The search was instituted after reports showed that quantities of the drug, withdrawn last December, were still in circulation. “Most people who held the drug had either returned it to the distributors or destroyed it,” said Dr. Christmas.
