Timaru' He asked the Minister of Health (Mr McKay) whether he had noted the occurrence of a case of tetanus in Timaru. and particularly the strain placed upon the medical an i nursing staff of Timaru Hospital by the treatment of the case “Tetanus and certain other diseases may involve severe loss of respiratory function and I am aware of the strain placed on hospital staffs by these cases.” Mr McKay said “Special respiratory units are established at Auckland and Dunedin for the transfer of cases, where this is indicated in the opinion of the medical superintendent responsible."
