S.A. OLYMPIC COMMITTEE
Replacement Possible
(N.ZJ’.A.-Rtutrr—Copyright) LAUSANNE (Switzerland), . August 14. The all-white Olympic Committee in South Africa might be replaced by an African committee, it was reported today. British United Press said the chancellor of the International Olympic Committee (Mr Otto Mayer) reminded the South African State Secretary for Sports (Mr Botha) that the 1.0. C had resolved that the South African Olympic Committee would be suspended if South Africa persisted with racial discrimination in sport, the news agency said. In October the African Sports Federation plans to submit a formal bid for recognition of its own Olympic committoe.
