JAPANSE FILM TO BE SHOWN
Proceeds For Deaf Club One of the first outstanding Japanese cinema films to come to New Zealand will be screened by the Canterbury Jaipam Society in the Avon Theatre next Sunday to raise money for the building fund of the Christchurch. Deaf Club The film. “Hapipiness of Us Atone,” is the story of a deaf mute It won the San Francisco film award in 1961 The Japanese Embassy had supplied the film free, and depending on its receiption, it could well be the forerunner of others, the president of the society (Mr J. S. Pallet) said yesterday. All films, for the full 180minute programme, have been lent by the embassy, and the entire proceeds will go to the deaf club
