EVICTION OF NUNS
Polish Primate Protests
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copj/rigiht) WARSAW, August 13. The Primate of Poland (Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski) protested against the “unlawful eviction” of nuns from church premises in Warsaw He made his protest in a signed letter read from all pulpits of the Warsaw Diocese, British United Press reported. He said this had happened twice in Warsaw this month. A similar eviction of the Sisters of the Holy Sacrament had occurred in July when they were “thrown out of their own house in the Mokotow quarter in which they have lived and cared for orphans since 1917 ”
The Cardinal said the Church had tried unavailingly to intervene with the authorities. Therefore, he said, "I feel constrained to protest] from this place (the puplit)”.|
