GOLF Charles Second In Royal Gold Match
ABERDEEN (Scotland), August 12 The Australian. Kel Nagle, the New Zealander, Bob Charles, and Bernard Hunt, of Britain, shared second place in the Royal Gold round robin tournament which ended at Murcar. Aberdeen, today. The first prize of £750 went to Ralph Moffitt, of Britain—his first major win in a British tournament. Charles, Nagle, and Hunt finished the tournament with 15 points —three points behind Moffitt. Charles, Nagle, and Hunt each won £233 prize money.

In this morning's round, the left-hander Charles, two under tours for the last six holes, hit a 70 to beat Ken Bousfield, of Britain (72). and Hunt (73). Nagle halved with Peter Alliss (Britain) with a 73 and beat the Irishman, Christy O'Connor (76). Peter Thomson, of Australia, with a 71, halved with Dai Rees and Harry Weetman, of Britain
In the afternoon Nagle turned in a sizzling 67 to beat Moffitt (73) and Weetman 176). But Moffitt had already won the tournament with a morning round of 68
Charles also had a 67 in the afternoon, beating Rees (68) and O’Connor (69). Thomson continued his poor run with a 71 to go down to Bousfield and Jonn Panion (Britain), who both had 69
