N.Z. Shares Firm At Opening Of Week
New Zealand shares opened the week’s trading on a firm note yesterday, with 13 rises and five falls. The best gain of the day was a Is rise to 41s 6d by Felt and Textiles New Zealand rights. Other price changes among New Zealand shares were small. Overseas shares, were again uneven. National Bank of Australasia, £1 paid and 12s 6d paid, both had first ex dividend business 9d lower than in last sales, allowing for the dividend. Rises and falls by Australian shares were approximately equal.
