Hockey NORDEN CUP

Nelson Beats Marlborough

(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, Aug. 12. Kept on the defensive, Marlborough failed in their challenge for the Norden Men's Hockey Cup and were defeated S-nil by Nelson at Nelson today. There was a good deal of scrappy hockey, particularly in the first half, and Marlborough's attack was disjointed The side missed its Air Force contingent which was unable to play. With three goals in each half. Nelson was never in danger. In the second half they played much more decisive hockey. Scorers for Nelson were A. Paris (3). J. Stirling (2), and R. Bennett.
