He took five for 18 in 12.4 overs and bundled Sussex out for 98 to give Yorkshire a 93-run victory. Worcester beat Hampshire by nine wickets to strengthen hopes for its first English county championship in 63 years. The team holds an average of Iffl points at the top of the table compared with Warwickshire, which played Pakistan and missed a chance to build up its 6.96 average. Earlier in the day Hampshire's opening bat from the West Indies. R. Marshall, became the first county player to reach 2000 runs this season. Middlesex 303 for seven declared (E.
