The Woodville mare Astrid, having her first start since April, 1961. was a clear winner in the Ashcott Handicap at the second and last day of the combined Hawke’s Bay and Dannevirke Hunt Clubs’ meeting at Hastings on Saturday. Totaiisator takings on course for the second day were £38,996. an increase of £1575 on the second day of last year’s meeting.
