Bay Of Plenty Challengers (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Aug. 10. Auckland will play its fifteenth defence of the Ranfurly Shield tomarrow when i’l meets Bay of Plenty at Eden Park. Although the challengers have tried and tested players in several key positions, Auckland was favoured to retain the Shield Leading the Bay will be the ds-hing forward All Black, R J. Conway, who is -eported to be in fine form this season. He will be supported by two more internaitionals, M. W. Irwin (propl and W N. Gray (second fiveeigh'.ts). E. H. Whatsirau scored 12 points—‘two drop kicks and two penalises—when Counties challsn ed last season. The Bay has won both its matches this season—against Poverty Bay and Waikato. Auckland has regained its former All Blac'-s. P T. Walsh and H. L. White, both of whom missed the Thames Valley challenge earlier ;n the week. The teams are:—
