Benedictine Now Anglican Canon
(N.ZP.A-Reuter —Copg right) LONDON. August 8 A former Be'gfan member of the Roman Catholic Benedictine Order had become a canon of Winchester Cathedral. Hampshire, it was announced today. He is the Rev. Emmanual Amand de Mendieta, doctor in philosophy and letters of Louvain University. Dr. Amand de Mendieta, aged 54, is a scholar of international repute. He left the Roman Catholic Church because of changed beliefs and was received by the Archbishop of Canterbury into the*Church of England in 1957. '
