America's Cup Contenders

Police tonight mounted a guard over America's 12-metre contenders for the America's Cup in the wake of vandalism involving the newest one Niefertlti.
The Nefertiti was damaged slightly early today when the lines holding her bows were cut, the Associated Press reported. The gleaming yacht, a hot contender for the honour of defending against the Gretel. swung on to a pier. She scraped her stern and sustained a six-inch gash in the hull above the water line.
