INVITATION TO M.P.’s
Discussion On Farm Problems (H.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 8. The South Taranaki provincial executive of Federated Farmers decided at Hawera to invite the five Taranaki members of Parliament to attend a special meeting at Stratford to discuss the Government's attitude to farmers' problems. The provincial president (Mr J. J. Parsons) put before the meeting a report, under five headings, which is to be discussed at' the Stratford meeting. The points raised were: Local market sales of butter, finance for rural purposes, general wage order decisions, death duties, protected secondary industries. “These are but few of the deadly sins of the Government’s policies that seriously affect agricultural economy..” Mr Parsons said.
