LANCASTER PARK OVAL

Experiment With Soils Various types of son which wall be tested by the Department of Agriculture, will be tried on Lancaster Park Oval in an effort to improve the state of the ground. Thns was reported at a meeting of the Victory Park Board last evening by the chairman of the ground committee (Mr J. O. Hattersley). The decision to experiment with the different soils was taken at a meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Union, and the Canterbury Cricket Association with the ground ccmmittee, Mr Hattersley said. In the meantime care would be taken to prevent any further deterioration of the pitch.
