REMAND FOR ESCAPER
Breaking. Entering Charges Preferred (NZ Press Association) NELSON, August 8. Charges of breaking and entering the Junction Hotel at Takaka with intent to commit theft or a crime, and with escaping from law’ful custody, were preferred against Brian Patrick Burrows, 36, at a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Takaka late yesterday. He was remanded to Nelson to appear before a Magistrate on Friday.
Burrows was apprehended in the bar of the hotel in the early hours of yesterday morning. He escaped at the Takaka police station, but was rearrested late in the morning.
