Y.M.C.A. HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES

Boys’ And Girls’ Tournaments

Four teams from Christchurch and Bryndwr will take part in the Y.M.C.A.’s annual tournaments during the school holidays. Events will include gymnastics, rhythmical exercises, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, set and impromptu scripture readings and speeches. • Seven girls will travel to Nelson for the national older girls’ tournament from August 28 to 31. They are: J Anderson. J. Gatehouse, E. Blackledge, C. Taylor, E. Frizzell, J. Wyatt, G. Jamieson.

Two teams from Christchurch and one from the Bryndwr branch of the Y.M.C.A. will travel to Palmerston North for the national older boys’ tournament from September 1 to 6 The teams are: Christchurch A: G. Boyce, G. Harper. P Herron, K. Milligan. D. Po-r--ton, A. Ryde. Christchurch B: S. Dickson. D. Empson, C. Francis, K. Kitchen, R. Purves, D. Symonds. Bryndwr: B. Anderson, G McClurg, D. Napier, P. Phil, ipson, E. Scholtens, A. Reid.
