Two Trainers Fined

Alleged breaches Of the rules ol racing relating to employees were beard against three trainers by a speciallyappointed sub-committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference’s executive committee in Christchurch yfiterday. Mr G H Grigg presided W P. Hogan was charged with a breach of rule 146 (1) (A) of the rules of racing by employing for a period a jockey whose licence as a jockey had been cancelled Hogan pleaded not guilty, and the charge against him was dismissed. W. M Turner was charged with employing or otherwise permitting to work or to assist in any capacity in connexion with the care, control, or training of horses under his care, the same jockey from November, 1961. until about the end Of April, 1962 Turner pleaded guilty, and after hearing his explanation and replies to questions the committee fined him £lO L. H. Pratt pleaded not guilty to a charge of employing an apprentice jockey without first applying in writing to the last employer for and receiving a eatisfactory written character of the apprentice.
