CITY BUILDING PERMITS

Increased Number And Value In July The 377 building permits issued by the City Council last month had a value of £487,064, compared with 368 permits valued at £371,263 in July, last year. The month's figures brought the total for the year so far up to 1514, valued art £1,707.881. At the same time last year 10 fewer had been issued, but they were valued at £2,318.042. Last month, the greatest number of permits—72—was issued for the Linwood ward; but the greatest value was £94.685 for the 64 permits issued in St. Albans.
