OVERDUE YACHT

Search Called Off (K.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug 5. Four aircraft made an unsuccessful sea bunt on Saturday for the yacht Tuaikaepau 'which is overdue on a trip from Tonga to Auckland with 17 persons aboard. The search was not continued today and the Air Force reported that it had been called off. Three R.N Z.A.F. Bristol Freighters and a Sunderland flyio_ boat searched between Auckland and the Kermadec islands on Saturday from 6.30 am to 630 p.m The Royal New Zealand Navy ships. Pukaki and Tui. stood bv ready to assist. The 45ft yacht left Tonga on July 4 with supplies sufficient for one month only.
