Golf EXHIBITION MATCHES
Trophy Team Competing Three of New Zealand’s Eisenhower world amateur trophy team. R. C. Murray, S. G. Jones, and R. C. Newdick. and the non-travelling reserve. I. S. Harvey, will play exhibition golf matches in Christchurch tnis week-end. In partnerships of Harvey and Murray versus Jones and Newdick, they will play four-ba 11. best-ball matches at Waitikiri today, and at Shirley* on Sunday. Both matches will start at IJX) p.m. Murray and Harvey. who played numbers one and two in the victorious Canterbury team in this year's Frey berg Rose Bowl tournament. are both in excellent form. Newdick and Jones contended the national final at Ngamotu last October. Jones was the winner, by 2 and 1. Newdick having won the title the previous year. When similar exhibitions were played two years ago. between R. J Charles. Murray. Newdick. and W. J. Godfrey, 1200 people attended the match at Russley and 2000 were at Shirley on the following day.
