Since toe Americans began their current series of tests in toe Pacific towards toe end of April, special fortnightly Royal New Zealand Air Force flights have been bringing back, samples of rainwater, dust from toe atmosphere, and food from the islands, for analysis by the Health Department’s X-ray and Radium Laboratory. About 660 samples cf food have been analysed by toe laboratory. Tn addition. New Zealand scientists have been stationed

in toe islands. directing monitoring operations in toe field, taking basic measurements to detect radioactivity and making a preliminary analysis of food samples.
