Thai Royalty’s Entourage

WELLINGTON. Aug. 2. A prince and princess are among Thais who will accompany the King and Queen of Thailand on their eightday New Zealand tour this month. They are Prince Wongsa Nuvalra Devakula and Princess Vibhavadi Rangsit, The princess will be lady-in-wait-ing to Queen Sirikit. Also accompanying the party are the New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand, Sir Stephen Weir, and Lady Weir. The Royal couple will be in New Zealand from August 18 to 26. Later they will visit Australia. The Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr Thanan Khoman. heads the official suite. Others are three aides-de-camp. lady-in-waiting, Grand Chamberlain, Royal physician, two private secretaries police officer. Master of the
Household and maid of honour. King Bhumibol will have three valets on tour. Queen Sirikit will have four maids, a hairdresser and a wardrobe mistress. A financial officer will accompany the party There will be two personal photographers to the King and Queen, a Thai army photographer and two Thai television cameramen.
The Thai Ambassador to New Zealand. Mr Vadhana Isarabhakdi, who is resideni in Canberra, will accompany the tour party with Mrs Isarabhakdi. New Zealanders in attendance will be the GovernorGeneral (Lord Cobham), the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake), the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Gotz), 12 Government officials. two police officials and five journalists and public relations representatives. King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit will arrive in Wellington on the afternoon of Saturday. August 18. They will leave Christchurch for Australia on the afternoon of Sunday, August 26. Their visit also covers Tauranga. Rotorua, Hamilton. Auckland and Dunedin.
