Philippines Adamant INI Press Assn—Copyright) MANILA, Aug 1 The agreement on the creation of a Federation of Malaysia does not change the Philippine claim to British North Borneo, which will be part of Malaysia, a Philippine Foreign Office source sard today. “We still say the title to North Borneo remains disputed.’ the source said. “The British Goternment can transfer jurisdiction over North Borneo to Malaya but the dispute as to the title remains “ The spokesman recalled that the Tunku Abdul Rahman had said be wanted North Borneo in the federation only on the basis of a “clean slate." with the Philip, pine claim settled. "We will hold him to that” he said The Philippine President (Mr Macapagal) has proposed a greater Malay confederation which would include the Philippines as well as the territories already to be included in Malaysia.
