BURSARIES IN FRANCE
Awards To N.Z. (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 1. Three bursaries and five teacher assistantships for New Zealanders to spend one year in France were announced today through the French Ambassador, Mr L. Felix, in Wellington. There is a possibility of the bursary being renewed for a further year if the bursar’s work has been satisfactory. The new appointments are.— Bursaries; —Mr R. A. Peddie, of Wellington, to go to University of Poitiers; Mr R. S. King, of Dunedin, to go to University of Dijon; Miss A. Finlayson, of Masterton, to go tn University of Lyon. The bursaries are at the rate of 400 new francs a month for the duration of the university year in France All the above-named have first-class honours in French Teaching assistantships:— Mr C. G. Crisp, of Auckland, to the Lycee St. Charles. Marseilles: Miss E. P. Goulding. of Wellington, to Lycee Honore de Balzac. Paris: Mr M. R. Lints. Pahiatua. to Lycee de G'arcons. Cherbourg: Miss J. P. Lecher, of New Plymouth, to the Annexe du Lycee Roubaix. Wattrelos: Mr P. R. Bennett, of Gisborne, to Lycee Rodin. Paris.
