VICAR OF AMURI
Rev. D. J. Williams Appointed The Bishop of Nelson (the Rt. Rev. F. O Hulme-Moir) has announced the appointment of the Rev. D. J. Williams, vicar of Granity, to be vicar of the parochial district of Amuri. Mr Williams, formerly a master builder in Christchurch. has served all of his ministry at Granity. first as a stipendiary cathechist while he was studying, then as curate-in-charge after his ordination by the Bishop of Nelson in 1958. He was appointed vicar of Granity in 1960. Mr Williams built, with the assistance of parishioners, a new vicarage at Granity, and extensively renovated the Church of the Holy Trinity at Karamea. Mr Williams expects to take up his new appointment at the end of September. He is married, with two children.
